Hello Friends,
June has whizzed by and just like that we're halfway through 2023!
Despite the fact that we don't have any productions on the boards at the moment, we have been very busy with some truly exciting planning and scheduling for next year. And next month...
Despite the weather outside, things are heating up as we work towards our upcoming season which includes new touring destinations, revivals of previous productions and exciting original productions.

TRIBUO ARTS SUMMIT
On 9 and 10 June the Tribuo Fund hosted an Arts Summit in Stellenbosch where one hundred delegates from the Theatre Sector from all over the country debated, problem-solved and came up with ideas to future-proof our sector.
Among the delegates were Gregory Maqoma (Founder: Vuyani Dance Theatre), Pieter Toerien (Independent Theatre Producer), Liz Meiring and Sandra Prinsloo (Veteran Theatre Personalities), Monica Newton (CEO: National Arts Festival), Hugo Theart (Artistic Director: KKNK) and Cornelia Faasen (CEO: NATI).
The two-day event kicked off with brainstorming sessions about how the sector can strive towards sustainability, addressing topics like Funding, Audience Development, Relationship between Producers and Artists, State Funded Theatres, the role of Festivals and Training.
