VRT'S Marketing Guidelines
In today’s connected world, social media is a powerful tool to amplify the reach of our productions. As a valued member of our team, you are an ambassador for the show and we kindly request your assistance in creating excitement and engagement about the production.
Below, we outline how you can contribute to the success of the production through thoughtful and effective use of social media and media engagements. Whether it’s sharing content, tagging our official accounts, or participating in interviews, your collaboration is key to building the buzz and inspiring audiences to attend the production!
Social Media Guidelines
We keep in mind that social media and communication is ever-changing and ever-growing, but we want to encourage you to keep up by sharing our theatrical journey and connecting with our audiences. Below are some guidelines as to what we encourage you to post.
Guidelines:
-
Positive vibes only: Keep your posts upbeat and professional. We're all about spreading joy and enthusiasm. Please don’t post anything that could be misconstrued as negative or destructive.
-
Protect Confidentiality: Avoid sharing sensitive or confidential information about productions, colleagues, or the company, such as ID numbers, script pages, scale models or costume fittings.
-
Respect Copyright: Give credit where it's due. If you're using someone else's work, make sure you have the rights or permissions to do so. (You are always welcome to reshare any official Maynardville or VR Theatrical posts on your socials.)
-
Be Authentic: Authenticity is a superpower. Share your real experiences and passion for theatre. Feel free to engage with your audience through the use of short behind the scenes reels or photographs.
-
Hashtags Galore: Use relevant hashtags to make our posts discoverable to the right audience. See your Cast Handbook for specific hashtags related to the production that you are in.
-
Whom to tag: Please see your Cast Handbook for whom to tag in all your posts.
-
Be Mindful of Timing: Post content when it's most likely to reach our target audience effectively.
-
Respond to questions: If you are asked a production related question, make sure that you respond swiftly with relevant information, or feel free to reach out to someone from our team if you are unsure.
-
Dressing Room Posts: While we encourage some ‘behind-the-scenes’ action, please make sure that cast members are always appropriately clothed (also check for mirror reflections…). Please, no posts in underwear or revealing clothing. And please keep it classy. If you’re unsure if something is too juicy, it probably is. You are always welcome to run your post by someone from the team before posting if you are unsure.
-
Save the colour for later: We request that rehearsal photos are posted using a black and white filter.
-
Keep the production designs a surprise: We want to keep our Set, Costume and Lighting designs secret until the official production photos are released, so please don’t post photos of actors in costume or costume fittings, or images that give away large portions of the set design. If you are unsure, please run your photos past your Stage Manager before posting.
